History: Thucydides on Strategy
Take a systematic look at what makes Thucydides perhaps history’s first great strategist. In his analysis of the Peloponnesian War, he examines the political origins of the war, the Spartan and Athenian leadership, and the social and moral implications of war—all in an effort to prevent future generations from repeating Athens’ mistakes.
Movie: A Call To Spy
The film is a heavily fictionalized historical drama inspired by the lives of three women who worked as British spies during World War II. In many important respects the plot deviates quite widely from actual events and from their real-life missions. It stars Sarah Megan Thomas, Radhika Apte and Stana Katic.
The SSTEAM-H sessions are open to all Orleck Members and Day visitors. History Discussions will be held from 1000 to 1130 with a Movie of the week showing starting at 1200 onboard the ship on each Wed and Saturday in coming months.
