Greetings USS ADAMS Museum Supporter
BRING HOME THE ADAMS UPDATE. We continue to be on track to obtain and BRING HOME THE ADAMS this summer. The City of Jacksonville will announce the developer that they will negotiate the sale of the Shipyards property with on April 30th. JHNSA will then coordinate the berthing plan for the USS CHARLES F. ADAMS (DDG-2) with this perspective developer and generate our pier restoration timeline.

In the meantime, we continue to develop our museum plans and court sponsors and business partners. Our www.crowdrise.com/BringHomeTheAdams campaign continues and we ask you to donate and form your own fundraising team to support the ADAMS.

A great example of teams supporting The USS ADAMS Museum are the 20 classes from Leadership Jacksonville, who are competing to be named ” BEST Class Ever!” LJ Class 2011 is the “best” so far, but other classes are after that title. The “Best Class” will earn a special party aboard the Charlie Deuce and the most generous individual donor will ride the ship down the St. Johns River. Check it out all the donors at www.crowdrise.com/BringHomeTheAdams and get on board! The time to DONATE IS NOW! Please help!

SALUTING SUCCESS! On April 23, we will graduate 25 students from our inaugural Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Program called “Saluting Success.” Educating our youth, especially at-risk kids who need mentors and a path to succeed with, is a mission that is close to our hearts. Our youth represent a core demographic visitor and revenue base we are interested in maturing. Through our efforts, industry partners of The USS ADAMS Museum and prospective sponsors are taking notice. They see the potential in using our historic Navy warship to stimulate the future workforce while instilling national pride in our military!

As with everything else we do, “Saluting Success” is a collaborative effort involving many community partners. Thanks to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, JEA, SIEMENS and Mr. Al Bagocius, our lead instructor, for their contributions and support. In addition, a hearty THANK YOU to The Boselli Foundation’s Youth Life Learning Center and Michael Winegardner for allowing us to use their facility and teach their children as we continue our hard work to BRING HOME THE ADAMS!  Thank you again to everyone involved.

BUSINESS SPONSORSHIPS/PARTNERSHIPS. We are looking for businesses to partner with who share our passion of honoring veterans, educating youth and helping Jacksonville grow economically. Sponsorships and partnerships are crucial to covering restoration and museum operating costs. Please contact Joe Snowberger ([email protected]) immediately if your business or organization is interested in partnering with Florida’s first warship museum and first project green-lit by the city to revamp the Downtown Shipyards.

RAISING AWARENESS/COMMUNITY PRESENCE. If you have not joined our social media crew, please visit our pages to stay up-to-date on our latest developments. We are on Facebook, www.facebook.com/USSAdamsMuseum, Twitter, http://twitter.com/UAM_JAX, and LinkedIn, www.linkedin.com/company/the-ussadams-museum.

In addition, help us spread awareness about The USS ADAMS Museum by talking about us to others. We are a community-led organization, made up of supporters just like you, and we need to rally together in order to see this project through to completion.

Our ship is coming, so please help us get her into port. Together, we will BRING HOME THE ADAMS!  V/R – Commodore Joe.
