Greetings USS ADAMS Museum Supporters.
Employers LOVE to see their employees or prospective employees involved with nonprofits.
In a recent survey on LinkedIn, 42% of hiring managers stated they consider volunteer work equivalent to full-time work experience. Twenty percent said they’d hired someone because of their volunteer experience. The idea behind this is volunteering can offer opportunities for professionals to hone their existing skills, develop new professional skills, and network with like-minded colleagues.
Because of this, more than three million LinkedIn members have added the Volunteer and Causes section to their profile.
So, to thank our supporters and reach out to more professionals that share our passion, we have joined LinkedIn. You can like our page at www.linkedin.com/company/the-uss-adams-museum and it will show up as an organization you follow. In addition, you can add us to your “Volunteer,” “Causes You Care About,” “Supported Organization,” or other sections on your profile by typing “The USS ADAMS Museum” and selecting our page.
Thank you to those who have visited and donated on our Crowdrise website at: www.crowdrise.com/BRINGHOMETHEADAMS.

Downtown Council Quilt Presentation. Today The USS ADAMS Museum was the Spotlight Speaker at Jacksonville’s Downtown Council meeting. We presented Council Member Jim Love with the Navy Quilt he won during the raffle held at our holiday party.
JAXCON 2015 Model Contest and Show. Our very own “Charlie Deuce” USS CHARLES F. ADAMS (DDG-2) model will be on display at the JAXCON 2015 Model Contest and Show Feb. 7 at UNF’s Herbert University Center. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS for this event. If you are interested in attending or volunteering, please see the link below.
Can’t make the show but love building models OR are you going to JAXCON to spark ideas for your next model project? Well, don’t forget our Ship’s Store sells model ships and aircraft at The Jacksonville Landing. We have an eclectic selection with the best prices in town. Currently, we do not sell these models online, for our non-local supporters, but you can call the store at 904-647-5177 and inquire about our purchase/shiping options.
Thank you and best wishes to all of our supporters. Together, we will BRING HOME THE ADAMS! V/R – Commodore Joe.
