Fair winds have begun to stir and have allowed us to actually begin our mooring design and detailed planning work for the Shipyards in downtown Jacksonville. There are many Irish Pennants (loose ends) and details to confirm before firm dates are available to share, but the traction is exciting! We will have more details to follow as soon as available.

In the meantime, please ensure your JHNSA membership is up to date. Please also consider stepping up to the next level of support as every dollar is spent towards bringing home the ship. Your 2016 JHNSA membership gives you eligibility to become a USS Adams Museum Pre-Commissioning (PRECOM) Crew member.

PRECOM crew members will enjoy the greatest opportunities to participate in the special events surrounding the USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2) coming home to JAX in 2016. Our goal is to have her downtown for the Jacksonville Veterans Day (Week of Valor) 2016 activities. This includes events associated with the Notre Dame Vs. Navy football game on Saturday, November 5th 2016 at Everbank Field in Downtown Jacksonville.

Mtg with Gov. Rick Scott

A model of the USS Glover (AGDE/FF-1098) is behind us. Gov. Scott served aboard her in the early 70’s.

Recently, JHNSA was provided an opportunity to update Florida Governor and NAVY Veteran, Rick Scott on our progress and ask for his support in a budget request that is being worked through the Florida Legislature. Many thanks to State Representative Charles McBurney and Mr. Mike Hightower for securing our wonderful visit with the Governor.

If you have been waiting to discuss business partnerships, sponsorships or legacy donations, now is the time to begin those conversations and be forever known for helping to BRING HOME THE ADAMS!
