9B Crew Berthing

This is one of three of four BERTHING COMPARTMENTS for the crew. These compartments contained canvas covered bunks stacked three high. Each man got a small footlocker for storage of all his belongings. In such an environment, consideration for one another was very important. Underway, two-thirds of the crew might be asleep while one-third stood watch.
